Former Friend Says O.J. Confessed
It's been nearly fourteen years since O.J. Simpson killed Ron and Nicole...allegedly! I was in junior high when that infamous
trial was going on for what seemed like an eternity. Since the Juice was acquitted in 1995, his name has been popping up every
now and then. It is a terrible tragedy that happened but after a decade and a half you'd think this story would be old news
or would fade away but it hasn't.
Partly because The Juice himself keeps saying stupid stuff on television, and because television keeps giving this guy
air time. Or a former friend coming out of the woodwork to cash in on O.J.'s infamy errrrr I mean to write a tell-all book
claiming that O.J. confessed to murder.
Mike Gilbert, a memorabilia dealer, says that while O.J. was "high" on marijuana he confessed to killing his
ex-wife after he was acquitted. Gilbert's book "How I Helped O.J. Get Away With Murder: The Shocking Inside Story of
Violence, Loyalty, Regret and Remorse" (Regnery Publishing, 232 pages, $27.95), is due in stores Monday.
According to Gilbert, Simpson told him, "If she hadn't opened that door with a knife in her hand she'd still be alive."
Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman were stabbed to death at the entrance to her condominium. The knife
was never found.
Simpson's current lawyer Yale Galanter said none of Gilbert's claims are true and that Gilbert is "a delusional drug
addict who needs money. He's fallen on very hard times. He is in trouble with the IRS."
"I've talked to O.J. about it," said Galanter, who refused to allow Simpson to comment directly because of his
upcoming robbery trial in Las Vegas. "This stuff not only didn't occur but it's not factually supported by the evidence."
Wow! "If she hadn't opened that door with a knife in her hand she'd still be alive"? Who was he talking to O.J.
or Freddy Kruger? Look, I don't know who to believe I mean it's a little hard to give O.J. the benefit of the doubt but Gilbert
sounds a little shady also. Especially when Simpson's current lawyer Yale Galanter called Gilbert a "delusional drug
addict who needs money"...ouch. Take it easy Galanter I mean you're not exactly defending the Pope.
Anyway, O.J. is in the news again and there's another book involved and I'm only telling you about it because it's my
job. All that I know is that someone will buy this book and I say if you're going to publish this kind of book then you should
publish that other piece of garbage "If I Did It" by O.J. I mean what's the difference, since Ron's parents have
the rights you'd actually be helping them.
